My option was Qxg1, looking for fxg1/Q as a response, and to follow with Nxg1#, thinking that there was no other move, but if Black declines the exchange, and instead does Qxh8, white can't make the mating move and is in a spot! Thanks a lot for these podcasts!

ReplyDeleteHopefully, through this podcast and next week's I'll show that sometimes trying to "force" the mate is a longer route to the checkmate.
